There must be thousands of tomato varieties, but here you'll only find the seeds I offer.
This list is subject to constant change; i.e. it sometimes needs a bit of updating. But trust me: it's 95 % up to date today.
I haven't found the time to write mouthwatering descriptions of each variety or to put up pics - will I ever? - but most of these varieties are described somewhere on the internet. This is one of my favourite databases Thank you, Tatiana!
Some of my 2009 highlights:
- Triple Hybrid Intergenic Cross. From SSE, reportedly a cross between tomato, capsicum & tomatillo. Not very Intergenic to me: a firm oblate tomato, up to 300 g. Semi-determinate. Pistils are unusually thick for a tomato, so who knows.
- South American Banana:red pepper-shaped; very easy to peel when ripe.
- Lady Fingers: oval,
200 g, red, firm, reliable; not my tastiest though.
- Erdie's Family Oxheart: almost seedless pinkish oxheart.
- Lucky Oxheart: not very heart-like, but 250 g of sweet bicolour flesh in dityo skin.
- Sulias Oxheart: great oxheart.
- Slankard's: heavy pink oxheart
- Red Gold Stripe: early trusses with lots of beautiful 100 g fruits.
- Lycopersicum Humboldtii: dark pink round 50 g fruits; quite big for a botanical type; resists blight etc.
- Olive: red & oval & great for paste; 50 g; sprawling indeterminate; resists blight etc.
- Super Italian Paste: loads of big classical elongated tomatoes, great for all sauces & soups.
- San Marzano 3: a bit smaller than above, but also very prolific
- Repreco Paste: early semi-determinate type.
- Blueberry: semi-determinate plants with meaty, firm round fruits that are red with a dark blue hue!Tasty too.
- Caro Rich: orange & round up to 350 g; lots of carotene here; prolific & easy plants.
- Black & Red Boar: from California, with stripes; nice tasting oblate, 300 g.
My Mixed Tomato Seed offer:
-
Cherry Tomato Blend Me Tarzan:
a variable cross between three of my favourite cherries. Parents Sungold, Juliet &
Black Cherry each grow like crazy, thus conquering late blight - at least in
my greenhouse: I keep the plants dry & their roots well-fed with
plenty of mulch & compost. The fruits of this multi-cross are
mostly round, red or orange, and delicious.

Surprise!
Allow me to choose 5 different off-list varieties for you to grow & taste.
-
Boutros Boutros F2:
I've been crossing my most prolific & tastiest types, resulting in this blend of reds & oranges & yellows & blacks. Expect fruits between 50 and 100 g, borne in plenty of trusses on neverending plants that will resist blight etc pretty well. Please report how my favourite crosses perform in your garden. Keep them well fed & mulched, like I do.
-
Baroma:
A blend of semi-determinate roma tomatoes; classical red, in abundance all season.
- Saladette mix Have you got it yet?
Disease tolerant blend, in black, red, orange & green striped.
